PORTALS OF PRAYER   (July-September) Pick up one of these free devotional booklets at the tract rack in the lobby.  It is a great way to start your day.

HOPE HOSPICE   is seeking volunteers.  Call John Davis (314-518-2816).

LCEF   An investment in Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) provides a fair rate of return, a record of safety and soundness, and something few other investments offer – the “ministry dividend” of knowing that while funds are on deposit with LCEF those dollars will be used to support other congregations in their expansion of ministry.  Call 314-965-9000 or visit www.lcef.org for more information on how you can become a partner in the support of ministry throughout The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

HANDYMAN JOBS   Ron Hamlin tracks seminary students that do handyman jobs.  Some are experienced tradesmen.  Contact the church office for more information.

ITEMS LOANED TO VBS   may be picked up in the Sunday School office.

A NEW BETHESDA THRIFT SHOP   recently opened at 14755 Manchester Road (next to Walter Knoll Florist) in Ballwin.  They are seeking donations of new and gently used items: clothes (infants, children’s and men’s), household items, collectables and furniture.  Donors should call the store (636-256-6630) before bringing donations.  Volunteers are also needed.  100% of their net profits go directly to the care of their clients with developmental disabilities.

JOB OPENING    Lutheran Family & Children’s Services of Missouri is looking for an Administrative Assistant.  To apply, click on the email link on the Human Resources page of their web site (www.lfcsmo.org) or fax your resume (314-754-2794).  For more information, see the bulletin board in Strickert Hall.

DO WE HAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS?   Please write it on the Fellowship of Worship or send it to: churchoffice@kokstl.org.  Occasionally, “mass emails” are sent out with timely information.  Don’t miss receiving them.

A DESIGNATED FUND   has been established to support the cost of tuition our two called pastors incur in sending their children to Lutheran high schools. The ability to provide their children with a quality Lutheran education is vitally important to our pastors, and your Pastoral Care Committee asks you to consider making a gift to this fund so we can continue to provide assistance to them.  Envelopes are available at the welcome desk, or you can mark your own envelope with “High School Scholarship Fund.”   Questions, call Tom Viliocco.

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION    Read Colossians 3:1-11:  Christian stewards are people who have been raised with Christ so they can set their hearts and minds on heavenly things rather than on earthly things.  We go through life looking up in joy rather than looking down in gloom and sadness, knowing all the while that the best is yet to come.  (Ref: www.lcms.org “Resources For Stewardship”)

He clothes the lilies, feeds the birds;

Would He to you, then, pay less heed?

Look up to Him with prayerful heart,

He will supply your every need.
